When I see roadkill, I like to take a moment to pay my respects and honour its last moments. If the animal is still intact, I feel obligated to document the damage and harm we unintentionally cause. I find these moments surreal. I often observe these beautiful creatures in motion or flight, and to have one still in my hands creates a deep sense of connection. It reminds me of how fragile life is and how closely we share this land with our wildlife.
Over time, this series evolved, and I felt it was my duty to share it and to raise awareness and help prevent further roadkill. By simply removing a carcass from the road, we can each play a small part in protecting and preserving Western Australia’s wildlife.
