Amanda Bell is a Badimia Yamatji and Yued Noongar artist living and working on Wardandi land in Goomburrup. Her practice explores language, power, and cultural identity, engaging with storytelling in ways that are culturally grounded and made in the right way.
Amanda first came to prominence through Fremantle Arts Centre’s Revealed exhibition in 2021. Her neon and sound work from our 'Lip, Mouths, Throat and Belly exhibition was subsequently acquired into the State Art Collection and is currently on display at the Art Gallery of Western Australia, marking a significant early institutional acquisition.
Her work has since been exhibited and acquired by major Western Australian institutions, including the Bunbury Regional Art Gallery and the City of Bunbury, and she has completed public and commissioned works, including a neon installation for the City of Kwinana.
In 2025, Amanda’s work F.ma (five ways to make a rainbow) will be presented as part of the Judy Wheeler Commission at the Perth Institute of Contemporary Art. She is represented by Yungarra Gallery.
